REMINDER: the #SolarEclipse is happening today! It will begin around 2 PM with peak darkness around 3:25 PM.
Don't look directly into the sun and exercise caution if you have to travel!
With the solar eclipse just a few days away, the most important thing to remember is SAFETY.
All New York City public library locations are offering eclipse glasses while supplies last. Check out these safety tips from Mayor Eric Adams:
If you are in danger, please dial 911. To report non-emergency issues please call 311. Communicate your status so others know you’re okay. Text messages are more likely to go through when phone lines are busy. Check on your neighbors if safe to do so.
Please follow NYCEM - Notify NYC.
New York City just felt the impacts of a 4.8 magnitude earthquake with an epicenter of Lebanon, New Jersey.
Mayor Eric Adams is being briefed. While we do not have any reports of major impacts at this time, we’re still assessing the impact.
The New York City area will experience a partial solar eclipse expected to occur at 3:25 PM on Monday, April 8. 🌘
Here are some ways to keep yourself safe, while also learning some cool science. 😎
