CS Hon Ababu-Namwamba, EGH🇰🇪 presided over the unveiling of the AnnosOnefinedayArtCentreKibera Anno's One Fine Day Arts Centre in Kibera. He was joined by ambassadors of France Arnaud Suquet, Germany Amb Sebastian Groth 🇩🇪🇪🇺, Ukraine H.E. Andriy Pravednyk, EU H.E Henriette Geiger & Kibera MP Peter Orero among others.

Speaking to the attendees, the CS noted that the unveiling of the facility run by followthesun will empower the youth through art, expressing his pleasure that the creative industry was finally taking shape, calling on the young people to tap into its endless potential.

He noted that the centre was a testament of the creative potential of Kenyan youth and the globe in general, revealing that it was in sync with #TalantaHela initiative which seeks to identify, nurture, and monetize talents in the creative space.

'This centre showcases a story of resilience, boundless energy and determination of the youth to take on everything in life. I’m absolutely blown away by the creativity and imagination in how this building has been designed to bring out the creative spark,' he said.

Assuring of his ministry's support, the CS announced its adoption as a satellite site for the #TalantaHela initiative.
“I’m delighted to learn that so far, this centre has given 20 people job opportunities, ensuring sustainable livelihood.

This resonates perfectly with our #TalantaHela initiative whose main goal is to create opportunities for the youth and put #PesaMfukoni . We will support in canopy and furnishing, and it will make it an official satellite site for the #TalantaHela initiative,' he said.

The construction of the centre kicked off 11 months ago with the ministry partnering with Germany and the French Embassies to support its construction.
Also present was Kenya Film Commission CEO Dr. FCIM- Timothy Owase.
