Co Chair Liz Barker asked what is being done to document the impact of the bill will have on the Ugandan public health & economy.

Uganda’s progress on its HIV response is now in grave jeopardy. The Act has already led to reduced access to prevention and treatment services.

Lord Fowler Vice Chair of the APPG today asked the government what is being done to help the LGBT+ in Uganda.
 
The LGBT community in Uganda is on lockdown now. They don't have HIV preventive and treatment services.

Lord Popat the UK Ugandan Trade Envoy stated that the Anti-Homosexuality Act of 2023 violates multiple fundamental rights guaranteed under Uganda’s constitution.

The Act will not only impact the LGBT+ community it will impact the Ugandan economy.

In the debate relating to the definition of sex I’ve just spoken up for the Equality Act and spoke up for our trans and non-binary friends.

Minister for Equalities Stuart Andrew and Hungarian MP and Chair of the Hungarian Parliament's LGBT Intergroup David Bedo MP discussed anti-LGBT laws in Hungary and the crucial work being done by the Intergroup, civil society and activists to stand up for the LGBT+ community.

It was a privilege to host Hungarian MP and Chair of the Hungarian Parliament LGBT Intergroup David Bedo. Parliamentarians cross-party met with him to show solidarity with the LGBT+ community of Hungary amidst an increasing roll-back of LGBT+ rights both in Hungary and beyond.

What a great event organised by APPG LGBT+ on LGBTQ+ in the commonwealth.

It was powerful to hear what is happening in each region of the commonwealth from The Commonwealth Equality Network
