The APPG would like to thank Ilora Finlay for her debate in the Lords today, which asked what the Government is doing to improve sudden cardiac arrest survival rates. We must learn from countries such as Norway & Italy to improve patient outcomes from sudden cardiac arrest.

The APPG welcomes more defibrillators but research has found that defibrillators are used in just 10 per cent of out of hospital cardiac arrests. The Government must take action to improve defibrillator disparities & make sure people know where to find defibs in an emergency 🩷

We support the Government's announcement that it has fulfilled its commitment to ensure every secondary school in England has a defibrillator. But more must be done. Our APPG is carrying out vital work to secure further, continued and maintained access to such life-saving devices
