My research this semester involving the Banana Wars has taken on a newer, unintentionally funnier meaning.

This kind of amazing nuance (and it is amazing) is not going to cause self-reflection or change. That’s the dark truth of all this. These activists are the embodiment of the sunk cost fallacy. They, like much of the Palestinian nationalist movement, are their own worst enemies.

I don’t agree. Even though I have (publicly) recognized the connection between radical students and the occurrence of pogroms in history. Sorry. If we classified people as terrorists merely for what they believed then literally everyone is guilty at some point in their lives.

While I have yet to see evidence that these students were not safe, it is not completely crazy to assume that the aggressive students and activists had the ability to make things spiral out of control. I had a fair bit to say on this last year.
