Solidarity to our members in LNER who are today taking strike action over the company’s persistent failure to honour existing agreements #ASLEFStrike

Integrated ticketing in Scotland was consulted on in 2008, a business case published in 2011 and proposed in 2012 by the government as the 'Saltire Card'.

We yet again welcome the latest announcement on integrated ticketing, however public transport must be affordable.

Disappointing news from Scottish Government on U-turn on climate targets. If we are serious about the climate emergency we need action on rail freight and trains fares to get trucks off the road and people out of cars

🔥Workers who can't strike can't bargain. And if you're not bargaining, you're begging.

❌But now the Tories are trying to ban effective strike action in sectors like fire and rescue, health, education and rail.

💪Workers themselves must defeat the anti-union laws. And we can.

There's a strong case to grow rail freight in Scotland and the Scottish Government should capitalise on this with a nationalised rail freight operator looking to maximise both the economic and environmental benefits.

We're glad this is now STUC policy following our motion.

The government needs to #InvestInRail before time runs out

This is yet another example of how the current rail system fails passengers:

A complex mess of different forces working against each other and delivering nothing as a result.

We need a unified, publicly owned railway, to plan better and put passengers first 🚄🌹

🚨Our rail manufacturing sector is in crisis.

Jobs are already being lost due to months of inaction from Conservative Ministers, with thousands more at risk.

Britain created the railways, but that legacy is being trashed by a Government content to oversee their managed decline.
