The structural problems that lead to journalists not being able to make a living is absolutely NOT “subsidize the creation of more journalists who can’t get paying jobs.” I feel fairly confident about this.

Let’s be radically clear that Gannett does not care about local news. It has dozens upon dozens of fellowship programs giving it journalists for subsidized rates and they browbeat and exploit them to death until they quit.

Here's hoping the money they save will result in hiring more local reporters...and not just replacing high-quality AP stories with a content syndicate producing stories about 'fast food menu changes fans are going to hate'

NuScale executives on earnings call today say despite cancelation of the Idaho SMR project last year, anticipated load growth across the US, elsewhere has only increased interest in SMRs as a developing clean energy resource.
