Grateful to join State Representative Arriaga & staff from Mayor Vieau’s office for the Feed the Children Kick-off event at the Boys & Girls Club of Chicopee and support their efforts to combat food insecurity in the Hampden district.

This morning I joined Rep. Daniel Donahue & operators in the cannabis industry for a panel discussion in Boston. With input from retailers & collaboration with colleagues in the legislature, we must identify the next steps to expand the cannabis industry's growth in an equitable way.

This week the Massachusetts Senate announced MassEducate-A College Promise Program, extending free community college to all Massachusetts residents. This program goes beyond covering tuition & fees by offering additional supports including stipends for books & supplies.

Happy #NationalTeacherDay ! With the exception of parents, no other group of people can have the profound impact teachers do on our students. Educators are on the front lines when it comes to investing in our children to ensure a viable future for each of them.

I am pleased to join Massachusetts K-12 in announcing a grant award for Springfield Public Schools. Now more than ever there is a dire need for teachers across the state, especially ones that can educate our children with the cultural sensitivity an urban environment demands.

This afternoon my office joined AIC to celebrate the announcement of funding to help create the Center for Financial Literacy and Economic Prosperity. Congressman Neal's securement of $1 million in Congressionally Directed Spending will combat financial illiteracy in Springfield.

Yesterday I joined colleagues in the legislature, Mayor Vieau& Stefanik Elementary School for a tree-planting event to celebrate Arbor Day.

By planting this 40,000th tree, the administration is underscoring the importance of supporting environmental justice communities.

This afternoon I participated in a roundtable discussion convened by Elizabeth Warren at the Latino Economic Development Corporation. Senator Warren’s securement of $550,000 in Congressionally Directed Spending will boost hundreds of small & micro businesses across Western Mass.

Amherst, Western Mass, & the Commonwealth has inherited a humble leader in Chancellor Javier Reyes Javier Reyes. This morning’s investiture ceremony was incredibly moving, & reinforced the obligation we have to collaborating so we may provide competitive opportunities for our students.

I'm pleased to join Massachusetts K-12 in announcing a grant award for Chicopee Public Schools. The Teacher Diversification grant program supports local school district efforts to strengthen and diversify existing teacher recruitment & retention programs through federal ESSER funds.

Yesterday afternoon, my office joined State Representatives Gonzalez, Ramos and city officials for a Flag raising ceremony on the steps of City Hall in Springfield to honor the 65th, the all Puerto Rican Infantry Regiment that fought in the Korean War.
