Interiors and details of the mosque, church, and synagogue.
Sunlight is the complex’s principal design material, impacting each house at different times of the day.

One year of the Abrahamic Family House. Each building is specifically oriented to its siting and religious references.​ The mosque is oriented toward Makkah, the church faces the rising sun in the east, and the synagogue is positioned to face Jerusalem.

1 year of the Abrahamic Family House. The mosque's façade is formed of seven arches on each side. The church façade is a density of columns symbolizing rays of light. The synagogue’s V-shaped columns reference the overlapping palm fronds on the traditional Jewish prayer shelter.

The Webster's 8 foot wide, cast-in-place, center-pivot, concrete door weighs approximately 3.2 tons. Despite its significant weight, its motor and sensors have been calibrated to gently and softly rotate the door open and close at the push of a button.

Smoking ceremonies are an ancient Aboriginal ritual, signifying an important tradition of cleansing places and people, and for celebrations and healing. These rituals were hosted at the opening of the George Street Plaza & Community Building and at the start of construction.

The George Street Plaza & Community Building connects holistically to its neighbouring buildings and public realm. It is a flexible and inviting, free flow space where encounters with art and community are made easy.
