Large hail, pouring rain, lightning and high winds were reported across Metro Detroit on Thursday afternoon as severe storms moved through southeastern Michigan.

We have confirmed that an EF-1 tornado did touchdown in and in the vicinity of Detroit Beach yesterday evening. The tornado was on the ground for about 5 miles, with maximum wind gusts peaking at 90 mph.
