230 years ago today, the revolutionary pamphleteer and publisher Jacques Hébert was guillotined, aged just 36. He was most famous for his newspaper Le Père Duchesne, which appealed primarily to the poor. He has been called 'the Homer of filth' for his skill with vulgar language.

On this day in 1796, the famous (or infamous) royalist rebel François de Charette was captured by the republicans. He coined the phrase 'you can't make an omelet without breaking eggs,' which tells you something about his methods. Still, Napoleon praised him as a military genius.

I should add that 'support' doesn't necessarily mean money! The reason we make our shows free is so people who can't pay can still enjoy them. Sharing on social media, recommending to friends, and leaving ratings & reviews on iTunes & other platforms helps quite a bit.

On this day in 1808, a popular protest against Spanish Prime Minister Manuel Godoy turned violent. The resulting 'Tumult of Aranjuez' ended with Godoy arrested and removed from power, and King Charles IV abdicating the throne in favor of his son, who became Ferdinand VII.
