Choices & opportunities!!

Weaving installation for Art 1; students were more inclined to keep designs linear and embraced different textures/weaving patterns instead of designs. BUT we have two that complement each other nicely, made by students who sit next to each other :)

Regional VASE was Feb 2- Carver brought 60 students and nearly 100 artworks, taking home 70 medals w/ 7 state qualifiers. WOOT WOOT. gallery was stunning and inspirational. The frog hat returns but traveled to be worn by different students. Excited to share our success with you!

Congratulations to Lluvia Aguilar, who qualified to State VASE w/ her captivating pen&ink drawing! She used markmaking techniques& india ink to build up value for a portrait of mixed emotions. Art 1 block prints….final project of first semester. Finished works create an installation for our hallway shimmering with black and white. Unit emphasizes collage&composition, pos/neg space, texture and printmaking techniques/procedure.
