Last night, it was a joy to host, along with my colleague Councilmember Liliana Bakhtiari, the 5th annual “Atlanta Celebrates Nowruz” at City Hall.
Nowruz (“new day”) coincides with the spring equinox. Happy new year to all who celebrate!
HUGE news for Atlanta and Downtown: $157,645,161 in federal funds coming to match some local money to complete 'The Stitch' Phase 1.
Full team effort between Atlanta City Council Andre Dickens Senator Reverend Raphael Warnock Ossoff's Office Congresswoman Nikema Williams U.S. Department of Transportation and, especially, Downtown Atlanta!

Had a wonderful time talking advocacy and how City Council works (or doesn’t) with The Galloway School 7th graders. Always good to be home.

Yesterday, it was a delight to welcome Pace Academy 6th/7th graders Downtown as part of their “mini-mester” studying civic engagement. They came prepared to talk about one of my favorite topics: participatory budgeting and trust in government.

A highlight of my college years was playing on the Duke Women’s Basketball practice squad. Playing in Cameron Indoor Stadium and leaving bruised & exhausted was the best. Seeing the women win their next game, even better. This article brought back great memories. theathletic.com/5190331/2024/0…

It was a delight to present a proclamation to Dr. Fahamu Pecou in celebration of his being knighted by the French government at Consulate of France in Atlanta 🇫🇷🇪🇺. Congratulations, chevalier! We are inspired by and proud of you. Your artistic genius represents the best of us.
Great to be with Rose Scott @wabe to talk small business, transit, and housing on the Beltline in O4W. Shout out to Finca to Filter for hosting!
On this King Day, from the n'hood where he was born and preached, the work continues. So deeply proud that a conversation about economic security for O4W residents birthed Georgia Resilience & Opportunity Fund. Tens of millions raised => 600+ women receiving monthly cash support. Baby bonds up next.
