‘The one suffering you can avoid is that withdrawal from the suffering of others’
Such wise words from James Gordon, MD & needed more than ever now.
Community & Solidarity are everything.
Inspiring day with Corrymeela Starling Collective Anaka Women's Collective & others .

Anyone have access to a ramp they can lend this Anaka member and her family until the Housing Executive or Health and Social Care Northern Ireland find one? They need one to be able to enter and leave their home.
Today CATU Belfast held a small action outside Housing Executive Belfast office to highlight the diabolical ongoing mould & damp issues in their accommodation.
We will continue to support our members in the fight for SAFE, WARM, SECURE HOMES!🏠 🟢✊
Complete disbelief at the way this young Anaka member, who is the sole carer for critically unwell mother, has been treated by Mears Group staff and the Housing Executive. Her key cards were deactivated by Mears staff when she and her mother nowhere to go.
On Friday, we had the honour of hosting Vicky Tennant from UNHCR United Kingdom, Margaret Ritchie & Anaka Women's Collective to discuss the challenges facing refugees and asylum seekers. You can learn more about this event below:

In the past, BCS played an important role in helping the poor women who came to Belfast. Today, the Anaka Women's Collective received funding for 2 part-time Education Project staff to address education and skills gaps for children, young adults and women in the migrant community.
Celebrations for one member at todays community housing clinic who, following collective actions of the group, has been offered a suitable home in the community where she needs to be! Now she will continue to help fight for housing justice together ❤️🔥✊🏽 #TakeBackTheCity
Thanks for coming out on #IWD2024 to celebrate #maryannmccracken . As mentioned on BBC Radio Ulster, we continue Mary Ann's legacy through our work w/ Anaka Women's Collective . Join us on 22 March to learn more

Afraa - evicted by Mears Group this week.
Afnan - one of many young people left out of our education system.
Living with a hostile environment & rising above it all to help deliver homes, education & opportunities for all.
This is what leaders look like. 👇

Powerful testimonies this morning which require both reflection and response.
Thanks again to Twasul Mohammed & Anaka Women's Collective for their courage and commitment to securing change.
StrongerTogetherNI delegates now moving into working groups & project visits for the afternoon.
Brilliant to get the opportunity to speak about this & our Equal Access to Education campaign! Afnan who is presenting at the conference is a young person in the group. Thanks due to Belfast Charitable Society Clifton House Heritage Centre for making this work possible!
