‘Domestic Medicine’ by William Buchan was one of the most popular medical guides of the 18th & 19thc. According to Buchan, cholera was not only spread by dirty living conditions but also eating cherries, drinking strong spirits and having excessive ‘passions of the mind’

The right policies could stop this. Increasing 4 hour access standard to 78% from 76% doesn’t work. Instead focus on 12 hour length of stay, it’s already in the contract. Not doing this puts elderly people’s lives at risk

Kindness and compassion at work are also discussed and we want to bring back the mid ward round coffee break
