I met today with my counterparts from Australia, Japan, and the Philippines to strengthen the historic momentum among our four countries.

The United States, Australia, and Japan are continuing to deepen our trilateral cooperation in support of a free and open Indo-Pacific.

That’s why I was proud to meet together with Deputy Prime Minister Marles and Minister Kihara in Hawaii today.

Good discussion with the outgoing and incoming U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Commanders and my counterparts from Australia, Japan, and the Philippines on ways to continue strengthening our security cooperation and defense ties.

Today, alongside Japanese Minister of Defense Minoru Kihara & Chief of Staff, Joint Staff Gen Yoshihide Yoshida, I paid my respects at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. A solemn moment to honor the memory of those who served and sacrificed for our Nation.
