This morning felt like the hardest race l've ever done (who thought hills were a good idea?), but managed a new personal best in the end. It was also a huge privilege to hang out with Omar Ahmed. He's so wise, humble and determined. I was overjoyed for him that he came first.

Tomorrow! I’m overexcited about it!

This week Yvonne Jewkes and I began our writers in residence year at the therapeutic prison HMP Grendon. In our first workshop with the men, we read Ahmet Altan, tried to decode the secret magic of his sentences and then wrote some words of our own. I can’t wait for the next one.

Did a (bloody hilly) parkrun. Came 17th out of 512 and 2nd in my category.
