Never mind the Saxon Shore, the north west had to worry about the Irish. The Wery Wall the only remnants above ground of #Lancaster ’s 4thC Shore fort. It replaced the existing fort, enlarged & rebuilt to face the river Lune. Possibly to protect a fleet base.
