Day 199 IMAGE A DAY of Birkenhead Priory (1150 - 1536). ‘Nature’s Stained Glass’ viewed through one of the windows in the Great Hall of the Western Range (c.1200’s). The image encapsulated a truly peaceful moment found in the midst of all our current uncertainty. Photo SH.

We asked Emma, our documentation officer, to photograph something unusual and she sent me these photos. A hazelnut with carvings. They are so small she couldn't see the detail with the naked eye. Another amazing find.

Paul Apter I did actually go on that service! Bumpy, noisy and very uncomfortable, no wonder it didn't catch on. I used to use a similar one to cross the Solent, Southsea to the Isle of Wight which didn't seem to be nearly as bad.
