Over a year ago the ChampionSouthAfrica project drove a campaign on national purpose . Now in the week leading up to Freedom Day it’s time to amplify the need to find our national purpose once again .

#UnderstandingTheNationalGrid : The smooth functioning of South Africa's National Grid hinges on flawless coordination of various components. Cutting-edge IT systems take center stage, ensuring real-time updates every four seconds to accurately measure precise power consumption.

The private sector (big and small) and NGOs are no substitute for the state, both in terms of capacity and power. But the most important reason that we cannot invest our trust outside of the state is that it's institutions are tasked with the public interests and finances.

It's impossible to have a functional economy without a functional state. A state's primary role is to keep its people alive and well. It has to provide & protect public goods equitably. The state must cast & enforce a shared vision for success.

Don't give up on government.

When will world leaders be outraged by the genocide or if they do not like that word “massacre” happening in Gaza - Palestine? Will the aha moment come after all or half are killed? Will it come when not a single building, including hospital, is left? Where is humanity? #SaveGaza
