The switch to e-visas is due to be completed by the start of 2025. Given the number of potential problems, this could easily become another of the issues that a potential new government would have to get to grips with immediately after an election later this year.

People refused asylum in the UK can be sent to Rwanda, as can people who volunteer to go - so not just people whose asylum claim isn't being processed at all, as originally envisaged.

Reading Gulwali’s very personal journey from Afghanistan to the UK as an unaccompanied child helped us to understand what my own brother had been through and the journey he had taken. It gave us context as to the Afghanistan he experienced and left behind, and we passed the book

I am disturbed & distressed by the renewed military activity in Rafah by the Israeli Defence Forces.

I urge the Government of Israel to stop any escalation, and engage constructively in the ongoing diplomatic talks.
