Interesting insights for other countries at #CPD57 today, as 🇻🇳, 🇱🇦 and 🇰🇭shared how they have used International Conference on Population & Development Programme of Action to guide sustainable development planning, & underpin amazing economic & social progress in last 10 years.

Pleasure to catch up with 🇰🇭Commerce Minister Cham Nimol & Industry Minister Hem Vanndy this morning to launch a new 🇦🇺 funded project : training disability entrepreneurs on how to market their products and protect their intellectual property rights in the process.

Congratulations to 🇰🇭 today on the 25th anniversary of its membership of ASEAN! In 1999, it became the newest and 10th member. As 🇦🇺 marks our own 50th anniversary of dialogue partnership with ASEAN this year, we continue to engage deeply with 🇰🇭 on issues affecting the region.

Shocked to hear about the terrible explosions in Kampong Speu which have taken the lives of so many Royal Cambodia Armed Forces personnel. The Australian Embassy extends its deepest condolences to the families and friends of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.

After 31 years at the Embassy, our valued colleague Pu Sinith is retiring today. Mr Sinith joined us during UNTAC in 1993. A wise and humble man, his calming presence will surely be missed! But he now has more time to indulge his bike riding passion and look after the grandkids!

Online child sexual exploitation and abuse are horrendous crimes that cross borders, with huge impacts in the Mekong. That’s why Australian Centre to Counter Child Exploitation is committed to working with countries such as 🇰🇭 to train investigators and prosecutors, such as the training this week in Phnom Penh

On this day in 1974, ASEAN and Australia held our first formal meeting.

It was a historic occasion that laid the foundations for our relationship, with Australia pledging $5 million for ASEAN economic projects.
