After maaaany years of hard work (an early, much smaller version was in my PhD thesis!), the preprint of our paper on genetic heterogeneity in the effects of a Swedish schooling reform is out! Here's a thread on the results by the brilliant Rafael Ahlskog
Now out in #PLOSONE : Our paper describing the genetic data we collected in the German Socio-Economic Panel, including 66 polygenic indices that others can use

Anaïs Thijssen and I are starting a monthly series of interviews with geneticists in Amsterdam. These will focus on the interviewee's research, but will occasionally cover current controversies, hot topics, and unsolved problems.
Good morning #eshg2023 !
Looking forward to S03 Application of GWAS in social sciences at 8.30 AM.
We will have 3 great speakers Melinda Mills Aysu Okbay Paul Appelbaum and 25 minutes of roundtable and discussion on the opportunities/challenges when genetics meets social sciences

New work led by Junming Guan, and presented this morning at #ASHG22 , on novel estimators for family-based GWAS that increase power and robustness: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…. We introduce two novel estimators that maximize power for estimating direct effects in different situations. 🧵
Our (me, Ronald de Vlaming and Hyeokmoon Kweon 권혁문) first time offering this course, I think it went pretty well! :)
