Intersectionality is a “buzz” word I’ve heard mentioned by many at Health Services Research UK, however it still feels like there is a long way to go to truly understand it’s impact in health services and research.
My PhD work will hopefully be one small step in the right direction!

There were some great sessions today at COG UK! It’s exciting to see industry engaged with improving trial efficiency and initiatives to improve clinical trial diversity #clinicaltrials #COGUK #DiversityandInclusion
📢One of our DTP students Azar Alexander-sefre is looking for researchers to interview as part of her PhD study. Do circulate widely and get in touch if you want to be involved.
Well done to HSRU PhD students Azar Alexander-sefre Sophie Greenwood who have been presenting their PhD work in 3-minutes at University of Aberdeen PGR conference this week, not an easy task!👏
It was great to give a short overview of my project at the MRC TMRP DTP Associate Partner Symposium event today #inclusivetrials
One of our fabulous HSRU #PhD students Azar Alexander-sefre talking about her MRC TMRP DTP project on how intersectionality impacts representativeness of clinical trials. More here abdn.ac.uk/hsru/who-we-ar…
Great poster presentations from Researching Inequalities theme at Health Services Research UK conference, including Azar Alexander-sefre: Tackling health inequalities: what is the role of intersectionality in health research?

Azar Alexander-sefre MRC TMRP DTP We are still waiting for you to present it at Journal Club 👀👀
Inclusivity of under-served populations in research is hugely important - we need to go further & consider intersectionality & the impact on health inequalities/outcomes. Azar Alexander-sefre is looking at this in her MRC-NIHR Trials Methodology Research Partnership PhD - details of scoping review protocol in the link
Azar Alexander-sefre Health Services Research UK Intersectionality in trials must be highly transparent and understood if we are to address health inequalities.👍
