As the #BERA2023 draws to a close across all SIGs we have seen the challenges, barriers, and inequities of our education system. As convenors Amber Fensham-Smith and I @FadouaGovaerts enjoyed all of the presentations in our SIG and thank all the presenters for the great contributions.

An interesting presentation by Boris Gurevich about the perception of freedom among children in a dialogue school (as an AP setting) in Israel. #BERA2023

The importance of relationships and friendships of young disabled men in AP has been presented by Dr Craig Johnston this morning. Also good news of a new research network Alternative Provision Research Network set up by himself and Andy Malcolm

Young people are unique and so are their educational needs. Dr Sharon Smith presented her research in online alternative provisions which may be AS or WITHIN educational settings. AP rapidly on the rise but Young people voices are vital!
