Inflation Outturn: Annual core inflation rose to 3.5% in April 2024 compared to 3.4% in March 2024.
This was mainly due to a rise in other goods inflation such as fish and seafood inflation. Specifically, mukene (dried kapenta) prices rose by 28.8 % and fresh tilapia prices

#InflationApril2024 The Annual Inflation as measured by the Consumer Price Index for the 12 months to April 2024 increased at a slower rate of 3.2% compared to 3.3% registered in the year ended March 2024. This is due to the Annual core Inflation registered at 3.5% Government Citizen Interaction Centre
