A lot of my academic focus over the past few years has been on out-of-hours community care provision, and use of Emergency care, for people near the end of life.

๐Ÿ‘‡A brilliant / awful article by Adrian Chiles that simply, perfectly, explains why this matters.

1/ People from the Black Caribbean community are under-represented in our recruitment.

It's important that their experiences are included in our research so that bereavement services are developed to meet their needs too.

New international study in J Palliative Care finds it's important to examine the factors that shape where people want to be cared for at the end of life. People may be shaping preferences based on what is feasible, as well as what they would prefer.

Iโ€™m making the move from palliative care at home to inpatient care at the hospital this afternoon.

I have a bed at a really nice, new facility. Itโ€™s private, has a generous amount of space, and is very comfort-focused.

This is the best decision for me.
