First day of Base Ireland trip to Austria visiting 3 no till farmers today 2 of which had cut out nearly all synthetic fertilisers fungicides and and insecticides , very interesting day .
Spring rape planted early July after winter Barley ,no chance of harvesting it after the crap July and August started to shed just before Christmas ,regrowth down below already, destined for spring oats .Base Ireland on farm trails .
Base Ireland 2024 AGM a great discussion between stock and arable farmers about their success and failures in a very tough 2023 , members from the coast in Waterford to the coast in Derry tell their stories , as usual with base meetings still great positive in the room .
