BSMS students were invited by a middle school in NJ to participate in “The Great Mail Race”. Students completed a survey about their class and mailed it to a middle school in every state. If a school chooses to join the race, we could receive a letter from a class in each state!

BSMS students and staff participated in the Volleyball Challenge hosted by the Student Council. Fun was had by all, as ten teams rotated on three courts, playing each other!  Officer Allison and Officer Levy from the Suffolk County Police Department even joined in on the fun.

The Bay Shore School District has once again been named a Best Community for Music Education by the NAMM Foundation. #ItsAShoreThing

Sixth-grade scientists did a hands-on activity about open and closed circuits.  Students showed Dr. Lors and Ms. Watford how to create a closed circuit to allow electrons to flow through to convert electrical energy into light energy!

Congratulations to our top spellers from 6th, 7th,and 8th grade! After flexing their vocabulary prowess in grade-level mini-Bees, these 14 students will compete in the schoolwide Spelling Bee this Tuesday, 3/26 at 5:30pm in the middle school auditorium! Come support our students.

Our Bay Shore Middle School students achieved outstanding success at the Maglev Competition hosted by the Brookhaven National Laboratory, bringing home 10 trophies. Congratulations to Mr. Mollica, Mr. Orofino, and our BSMS students for their dedication and exceptional results!

Ms. Nardone was honored with the SCOPE Teacher Service Award. Teachers like her make BSMS a truly exceptional place!

The Bay Shore School District was named a 2024 Magna Silver Award from the National School Boards Association (NSBA) for its efforts to welcome new English Language Learner (ELL) students and families to the District. #ItsAShoreThing

Students studying IB music, visited the middle school to discuss their musical experiences and the benefits of pursuing advanced music education. The occasion offered prospective middle school students a glimpse into the future of their musical journeys. #ItsAShoreThing

To lighten the mood this week we had a random Wednesday school spirt day at BSMS. Teachers dressed like students and students dressed like teachers! Good times!
