Am unconvinced by the view that the UK should see itself as a 'middling power' and have a foreign policy stance much more similar to 🇨🇭/🇩🇰 than 🇫🇷/🇩🇪.

Seems like there are important, material differences that distinguish us from smaller European powers. 🧵

I cannot see how we can achieve a pivot to prevention and an improvement to 🇬🇧 health without devolution of health accountability, funding and delivery, esp in primary care and public health.

I wrestled with these ideas (and this paper!) for a long time so it's great to see it stimulating such an interesting debate already!

We argue in the report that NHS funding should be spent on non NHS services, if they improve population health overall.

This could include anything from housing to green spaces - listen below ⬇️
