I spent over a decade living/working in remote/rural valley adjacent to pristine wilderness & it made me realize cities are the *only way* to preserve vital ecosystems/natural resources.

Anyone calling themselves an “environmentalist” who opposes cities is a fraud.

When your cities complain there isn’t enough money to staff the parks, keep libraries open, or pave the roads it’s exactly this. They *are* going slowly bankrupt over the cost of sprawl.

I've made this point before: HOAs exist because the development of modern suburban sprawl is a Ponzi scheme cities can't afford. If cities were responsible for maintaining all the roads, sidewalks, parks etc of every car-dependent outlying suburb, they'd go bankrupt in months.

Adoption doesn’t solve the issue of not wanting to be pregnant in the first place. It’s not OK to force someone to endure that against their will for nearly a year, especially when they’ll be the ones who have to deal with any resulting medical issues and bills.

I think I’ve cracked the code for US cities.

What if we built more houses where people already are & less houses where people have to drive back & forth from?

Then we make sure all those houses are connected to where people like to go with walkable & bikable streets, transit.

This is the road where the 76 year old driver “unavoidably” crashed into a 9 year old boy crossing the street and killed him.

It says drugs and alcohol weren’t factors but let me tell you those are not the most common reasons for crashes.

Tell me the driver’s speed.
