(3/3) We have the lowest primary school and secondary school student-teacher ratios of all states in the country.

We continue to be the Education State because we invest in our workforce, we invest in our students, and we invest in our future.

(2/3) Victoria’s 2.8% growth last year accounted for more than half of the national growth in Australia’s teaching workforce in 2023.

Between 2020-2023, Victoria has 8,000 more registered teachers in the state.

(1/3) It is no accident that Victoria has the best student-teacher ratios of any state in the country. This only happens through concerted effort and ongoing investment.

Victoria has achieved higher growth in our teaching workforce than any other state or territory.

At this morning's International Workers' Memorial Day I laid a wreath on behalf of Victorian Government to mourn those Victorians who have lost their lives in the past year.

Today reminds us of the dangers workers face, and the importance of strong OHS regulations, enforcement and unions.

❌50% increase in sexual assault and related offences;
❌20% increase in acts intended by men to cause injury.
