Today I ran into HEB to pickup a few things and ran into one of our kinders from church. She told me she didn't know I shopped at HEB! I told her I would see her Sunday if Jesus didn't come back. She said that she talked to Jesus every night and He hasn't told her that.

Sometimes the complexity of holding both joy and grief in pastoral ministry feels a bit much. As in: we have had several deaths lately, and we also have many new babies.

That being said, we are having a BEVY of baptisms on Sunday, and it is giving me LIFE. Absolutely thrilled.

25 years today. Joy, thank you for teaching me how to love like Jesus loves. Let’s celebrate with enchiladas tonight.
