Yesterday we had the chance to participate in the 'Networking Biodiversity' event here at Boku university. This was an opportunity not only to share our work but also to hear many new approaches to conservation.

We have a new team member! We are excited to welcome Carolina Boomer. Her background is in Plant anatomy and modeling. She is working as a laboratory technician on projects 'CDL MERI' and 'Startup Grant Hein' and is supporting researchers with their experiments and projects.

We have exciting news from our RIMECO and CDL-MERI projects. Only for our summer sampling campaigns (2022-2023), the species composition of diatoms in the Danube floodplains located East of Vienna is 590 taxa!This region can be considered a hotspot for biodiversity of diatoms.
