I’m excited and grateful to use my four decades of national security experience to further strengthen our nation’s security. I thank Chairman Rogers for the opportunity to serve at a greater level.

Today, the Secretary of the Navy presented Rep. Gallagher with the Navy Distinguished Public Service Award, the highest honorary award that the U.S. Navy can bestow upon a civilian not employed by the Navy.

It was a privilege to welcome a group of fellow veterans to Washington today during the Lafayette Honor Flight visit.

Meeting so many decorated Hoosier veterans who have done so much to serve our country and protect our communities was truly inspiring.

To our veterans, we owe you a debt that can never be repaid - thank you for your service.

I had the honor and privilege of speaking to Junior ROTC cadets at St. Lucie West Centennial High School.

I was heartened by their commitment and desire to serve our nation. I have no doubt this is the next generation of heroes!

This National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we honor the bravery and sacrifices of those who gave their lives in service to our country and the families they left behind.

The Medal of Honor is the highest and most prestigious military decoration awarded to members of the U.S Military. It is given to individuals who distinguished themselves conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of their own lives above and beyond the call of duty.
