As my campaign enters its final days, I’d like to take a moment to thank everyone who has shared their thoughts with me over the past few months, and to recognize all of the amazing volunteers and supporters who helped out along the way. I couldn’t have done this without you.

No parent should have to worry about childcare spaces.

Many Hamilton families face long wait lists to access quality daycare in the City. By the end of my term as Mayor, the City will operate at least one Childcare Centre in each of our 15 wards.

Eight years ago today, Hamilton’s Corporal Nathan Cirillo was killed standing guard at the National War Memorial. I’m reminded of his service and sacrifice, and the senseless attack on Parliament that took him from us. My thoughts are with his family on this sombre anniversary.

I want to see my park – and parks across the city – full of kids playing sports without an affordability problem.

My Active Youth Program will cut the cost of Hamilton sports programs up to 90%, and all kids under 18 will be able to access rec centres and open skates - for free!

Hamilton’s industrial lands are highly sought after. Even so, the City has been discounting Development Charges and they fall well below much of the GTHA.

As Mayor, I would seek to reduce the discounts on our Industrial Development. Hamilton is worth investing in.

Hamiltonians feel unsafe because of an increase in dangerous drivers and violent crime and Hamilton is well below the national median number of officers per citizen. We need to fix that.
More police means increased patrols, less dangerous driving, and safer communities.

Just in from Bob Bratina on Tolls: 'Absolutely not. I’ve been saying since day one that the city needs to live within its means. Adding more taxes and tolls is not a solution, and I have a track record of keeping Hamiltonians tax increases down.”

Far too many of our seniors and young women in Hamilton feel unsafe walking on our trails and through our parks. This is unacceptable.

Installing more lighting and increased foot patrols are ways we can make Hamiltonians feel safer and more secure in their neighbourhoods.

Last night #TeamBratina knocked on doors in the Stipley neighbourhood around Tim Hortons field. Great conversations about my plan to work toward a safer Ward 3.

I'm beyond disappointed to hear about this, Andrea. Misogyny and violence have no place in Hamilton. All of us must stand up and speak out against this.

Affordable housing builds stronger communities.

As Mayor, I would call for inclusionary zoning along the proposed LRT corridor, meaning that all new and refurbished housing projects would need to include 30% affordable options to be approved.
