You have *way more* glycogen stored than you think (for those not in endurance realm). It really shouldn't even be a thought that you are depleting it if the endeavor you're on is less than 2 hours.

Of course, extra carbs can still help performance inside that timeline.

I love all types of race finishes.

Here we have the chill trail race soak in the moment finish.

Yesterday it was the bowerman mile head to head finish. This summer it will be photo finish 100m sprint. In the fall we’ll get cool marathon finishes for the final quarter mile.

If you want to do an endurance activity/sport

Do NOT be in a caloric deficit.

Matter of fact, don’t even count calories. You’ll be way off and end up hurt.

FloTrack have produced a top quality video of Jakob Ingebrigtsen's running 12x400m; 10x200m at altitude.

This is a fantastic insight into his training. Highly recommended viewing for any runner. This sort of direct insight and content simply wasn't available when I was a runner.

This is a reminder: The best way to learn a task is to understand the data.

What you’re physically doing can’t be quantified without the context of the data you’re working with.

You then combine unbiased and honest experience with data and make decisions.

It’s hard!

Nothing beats hill repeats when you’re bored with normal training.

Find a hill that’s .5-1mile in length and climbs 200-400ft in elevation.

Run up and down it. Very simple.

Way up forces intensity and power, way down forces zone 1 recovery. Can’t beat it!
