Ok it's interesting that 7% of parents over 45 wouldn't have kids if given a redo on life, but it’s also wild that fully 50% of childless people would have kids if given a do-over. Need to profile the 3% of childless folks who say they'd have 6+ kids if given the chance 😂.

- improved girls’ GPA and attendance rates
- largest effect sizes were among the poorest kids

My hypothesis: it's a rebellion against a decade of fat-acceptance messaging (which rings hollow to anyone with half a brain); it's a high-agency act in a low-agency doomscrolly world; we crave a return to the physical amid the screen-mediated performative culture we've wrought

“Full time” college students spend less than three hours per day in class or doing homework.

A downstream consequence of the marketization of higher education — the customers are getting what they want and what they want is easy classes.

This chart from The Economist (2021) shows there is no correlation between affordability of childcare and a country’s total fertility rate. Luxembourg has the ‘best’ childcare system but very low TFR (1.31). Israel has a less generous model but highest TFR in developed world. 2/5
