Thanks to the Actuaries Institute for this analysis. The good news is the excess mortality is much less in 2023 than 2022, about half. The bad news is it is still a v large death toll (8-10,000) that if not compared to 2022 would shock more. COVID drives this. We must do better.

Pretty disturbing. We must do better at protecting the most vulnerable in our community. Everyone wants to do this but current approaches are clearly not sufficient. For one thing, is a must. Should be the same in aged care, hospitals & schools as in Parliament.
