Our speaker for this year’s SPICE retreat is Dr. Sask-a-Theologian who kicked off the event with his thought-provoking question: What are people for?

Great start and looking forward to more tomorrow! Warm welcome everyone who is here with us.

SPICE 2024 is off to a lovely start. Sask-a-Theologian has presented the true meaning of a Catholic education is about formation not information. We are called to teach our students to not just live a productive life, but a virtuous one!!

Wait, they actually published a piece saying we need to pressure more people to die on Good Friday? Paging Caiaphas!

One of the wild things about having a column is that Our Sunday Visitor gets to pick the title and I don't find out what it is until the thing is published!

Heading out to do the family planning talk at Marriage Prep. More aware and grateful this time around that someone had the courage to tell us about the Church's teaching 2 decades ago. It has changed our lives immeasurably for the better.
Prayers much appreciated.

Honest question: does Yuval Noah Harari ever give any indication that his description of human beliefs as nothing but (more or less useful) fictions applies to his own beliefs? How is his angle exempt from his own critique?

'Literally' and 'physically' are very unfortunate word choices here. They have no theological pedigree and are quite indeterminate. A person may use them with an orthodox meaning, but they are much more likely to completely obfuscate what transubstantiation is meant to indicate.
