Day 2 Alpine prep took us scrambling and rock climbing up the Twin Ribs at Fiacaill ridge #cairngorms to practise Alpine rope techniques including how to climb out of a glacier crevasse using a clem hoist and French prusik. Back to the Scottish Highlands for Day 1 of a fabulous Alpine prep course, focussing on rope work for glacier travel and crevasse rescue, followed by an afternoon of scrambling and terrain belaying. Our geography and environment students enjoyed a fabulous trip to Pembrokeshire to learn about sustainable food futures, pleistocene environments and biodiversity and pollution in coastal habitats.
