The Ford government has spent $310K on a new space for press conferences, despite there already being a taxpayer funded media studio available in Queen's Park. The difference is journalists are not limited in the number of questions they can ask in the media studio but apparently…

The budget: not enough to improve hospital staffing & capacity; not enough to respond to population growth & aging; not enough to stop ER closures, reduce surgical waitlists, or seriously address hallway healthcare. Just enough funding to maintain a perpetual crisis of care.

Just the worst governance possible.

“In the last five years, the Ministry of Finance has brought in close to 30 measures to reduce its own revenues. All told, those changes drained no less than $7.7 billion from the provincial treasury in 2023-24.”

CBC shows the danger of healthcare for investor profit. The SDM MedsCheck scandal could be limited if Ontario required for billing, a valid 'patient-initiation' for the consult rather than a cold-call (in-line with MD virtual billing requirements).

The American Diabetes Assn’s diagnostic threshold for prediabetes is 6.1%-5.7%. Yet the target glycemic goal they recommend for full blown Type 2 is <7%. It doesn’t make sense but it’s damn good for Diabetes Inc. which is paying the ADA piper.

'Innovation' has been co-opted to justify the expansion of private, for-profit healthcare in Canada, but here is a great example of a very busy publicly funded hospital doing continuous innovation to serve its patients. Reporting by Kenyon Wallace

This is just the first step but it sets out the framework for a
national single-payer pharmacare program! 👏👏👏

I had the opportunity to stand beside Jagmeet Singh after I shared how would greatly benefit Canadians like myself who are dependent on insulin & other diabetes meds. Justin Trudeau fulfil your commitment to implement national pharmacare without further delay.

Yet another vulnerable ER patient who cannot afford their diabetic medication coming in with sky high sugars. It is way more expensive to see me with complications than pharmacare could ever possibly be.

Rather than investing in and using our existing hospitals, the Ford government transfers public funds for investor gain. ORs are available if Deputy Premier Jones wanted to use them. Bill 60 is health policy maleficence, not in the public interest.

The Doug Ford government should be putting ServiceOntario kiosks in libraries, community centres and city halls and paying the municipality to install them instead of inaccessible private businesses. Also, properly fund municipalities.

Why is this govt so dead-set on selling off the public services Ontarians rely on every single day?

Ontarians have had enough of the PC’s privatization agenda. They deserve a government that puts them first.

Last week the Ford government didn't have time for public input on major legislation, but they had time to close the Legislature a week early.

Skipping the democratic process of debate and committee freezes ordinary people out of the democratic process.
