When the public libraries opened in Birmingham in the last quarter of the C19, the city fathers announced that they were now the property of the people. We pay for them to be run by properly qualified librarians. This is Birmingham. We don't want half arsed services.

Yesterday library campaigners came together under the banner of Birmingham Loves Libraries with a clear message that Public Libraries must be publicly funded, provided by the council and run by paid & trained Library Workers. ✊️
