The government has already fudged its chance to prevent homelessness through the #RentersReformBill - now it wants to punish people for ending up on the streets. Cruel and nonsensical.

This is awful news for us at Grand Union Housing Group. Steve Benson has made such a difference to us with his sensitive, pragmatic and collaborative style. He’s kind, supportive and clever and he’s spent a lifetime in the service of others. I send my love to him and his family.

We’re observing earth hour (albeit an hour late as we forgot) and so we’ve no lights on and no tv either. Ch2’s doing maths GCSE revision by candlelight (assisted by Mr B). Ch3, after a difficult few weeks, is playing some Einaudi on the piano, in complete darkness. #blessed

Been travelling a bit this week. 8 trains in 3 days. Every one of them late. 2 of them so late I missed connecting trains. A further 2 had no coffee because the catering crews were stuck on other delayed trains and missed their shifts on my train.
