A few (belated) snaps from the Stile Antico workshop Northumbria Uni - Stile and Katherine Butler introduced a group of young singers and students to singing renaissance music in the small ensemble setting byrdcentral.com/post/stile-ant…
Really enjoyed Stile Antico's family concert at Howard Assembly Room this afternoon, complete with audience piece from Dr Kerry Andrew in which I knocked my daughter's drink across the floor attempting the body percussion (sulk ongoing). Also FREE pencils for everyone!
We had a great time at Newcastle Cathedral on Friday - 1st working with school children who have been taking part in Byrd 2023 workshops w/ Horizon Voices in our Family Concert & 2nd a full house for our evening concert performance. Our next family concert is in Leeds on 2nd April!
This was such an inspiring concert!Such enthusiastic singing from the schools. 'Oh, Sing' is firmly stuck in my head. A privilege for Northumbria Music to be involved with this project that's truly used Byrd to get young people singing today!
104 new-to-streaming early music titles are now available including treasures from our vault of medieval music and Renaissance polyphony, completing the discographies of Cinquecento, The Sixteen, @GothicVoicesUK, Brabant Ensemble, @ExCathedraChoir, @TheCardinalls and BinchoisConsort!
