In 2016, we jointly hosted an ESP course in Mannheim. These courses cover why (& when) randomised evaluations can be used to measure the impact of social programmes, how to design them, and how their results can motivate evidence-based decision-making. j-p.al/395

Center for Evaluation and Development (C4ED) works with partners to assess the effectiveness of development programmes using rigorous evaluation methods and identify areas for improvement and innovation.

In Germany, J-PAL Europe collaborates with the Center for Evaluation and Development (@C4ED_research) under the scientific direction of affiliate Markus Frölich to work towards a shared mission of generating robust evidence to reduce poverty.

In the afternoon workshops, we turned our attention towards the practicality of rigorously evaluated projects. We asked ourselves: What would an ideal philanthropic project in Pakistan or Ethiopia look like if we have the freedom to go beyond our usual constraints?

We are excited to have kicked-off off our 2023 symposium on „creating a philanthropic impact together“ in collaboration with Universität St.Gallen (HSG) today. Watch this space for more updates!

The 2022 LORTA Impact Evaluation Design Workshop, concluded on 19 July. Project teams from 13 GCF accredited entities learned about methods and approaches to impact evaluations. IEU partners
Center for Evaluation and Development (C4ED), J-PAL, ISDC Berlin & Food and Agriculture Organization also contributed to delivering the workshop.

We wrapped up a 6️⃣ day training for our enumerators prior to the survey on : Light Touch Impact Evaluation of the Nafaa Program. Our trainees are exposed to survey tools, soft skills and simulations by Center for Evaluation and Development (C4ED) team all geared towards ensuring quality data collection.
