4 days until IDA!
At #ImmigrantDay2024 , we will be bringing community members to legislative visits. Together, we set the agenda on what an inclusive California looks like where ALL of us - regardless of immigration status - are taken care of and have what we need to thrive!
5 days until IDA!
Immigrant Day, our largest annual event, has always been about bringing immigrant voices to the Capitol. We can't wait to be in community with y'all at #ImmigrantDay2024 and fight for our communities and make our voices heard!
The countdown begins - the LA office is getting ready for #ImmigrantDay2024 on April 16, 2024!
6 more days to IDA! ARE YOU READY?
6 days until #ImmigrantDay2024 with a data hit from California Budget & Policy Center:

'We're asking the Legislature to invest in establishing a separate health care market exchange, where all Californians, regardless of immigration status, would be able to safely shop and compare for health care plans' - Carlos Alarcón, CIPC Policy Analyst

Today, I, Senator María Elena Durazo, & the Care 4 All Coalition urged legislators to support a mirror program to Covered California so that everyone can have access to health care coverage, regardless of immigration status. The health of all of us depends on the health of each of us.

Yesterday we were in Sacramento with the #Health4All coalition, Senator María Elena Durazo, and Dr. Joaquin Arambula to support expanding Covered California to the 500k+ Californians who remain unjustly excluded from access to health coverage simply due to their immigration status. Let's go!

Big thanks to all of the #Health4All Coalition partners who joined our rally today and showing support for further steps towards opening up Covered California to ALL Californians, regardless of their immigration status!!!!

Undocumented Californians are nearly 4 times more likely to be uninsured than the rest of the population according to Berkeley Labor Center and UCLA Center for Health Policy Research report. Allowing access to Covered California is a necessary step towards #Health4All
Report from Berkeley Labor Center & UCLA Center for Health Policy Research finds over half a million Californians remain locked out of health care coverage due to their immigration and income status: laborcenter.berkeley.edu/californias-un…. #CALeg must take action towards #Health4All
As part of the #Health4All coalition, we strongly support efforts to remove all barriers in Covered California, regardless of immigration status. Where you were born or how much money you make should not dictate your access to care.
