Working across the African continent, it's rare for the full Africa Range-wide Cheetah Conservation Initiative (CCI) coordination team to meet in person. But happily the need for a strategic planning brings us together occasionally - here in Burunge, Tanzania.

Today is #WorldWildlifeDay & CITES’s 50th Anniversary! CCI continues to contribute to CITES, and helped to finalize the CITES Cheetah Trade Resource Kit, which informs authorities on how to handle, care for cheetah confiscated from illegal trade: ow.ly/ISRw50N8z88

This is appalling. Off road driving restrictions should be imposed and enforced in high intensity tourist use areas to limit cheetah harassment and damage to the environment. Without such measures, mass wildlife tourism may exclude cheetahs from protected areas
