I'm looking for new people to follow on here. What are your favourite accounts that:

- Post about finance (not just dividend investing either)
- Don't veer into politics
- Say interesting things

No self promotion, plz.

New algo makes discovery much harder than before.

If most investors value consistent free cash flow growth then it stands to reason there's an opportunity in companies that deliver lumpy free cash flow growth. Especially if you can buy it cheap enough.

Things are getting spicy over at Morguard REIT $MRT.un. Absolutely hilarious exchange from a recent quarterly conference call:

Normally I think the % of your portfolio invested in a stock is the only thing that matters.

But there is one time the $$$ amount matters: if someone has a big chunk of their net worth in one stock.

80% of a $10k NW in one stock is recoverable. 80% of $2.5M? Really risky.

One big lesson I've learned over the years is tons of investors will default to buying the largest name in an industry as a way to get exposure to a sector.

This means you need a really compelling reason to buy a smaller player.

Spent the last week in Iceland. Rented a car and drove the south coast like many of you recommended.

It was a bucket list trip for me and didn’t disappoint. A beautiful place filled with warm people (and tons of immigrants).

Pictures don’t do it justice, but here you go.

There's a massive benefit in life to simply being likeable.

Combine competence and problem solving (without people hating you) and you're basically unstoppable.

I know TONS of guys who consistently land on their feet because people like them, they don't rock the boat, etc.

From the newsletter yesterday:

The 2 stocks I bought for my TFSA back in January, which combine for a 5%+ yield, both trading at under 10x FCF, and I think have loads of long-term upside.

Heard from a number of people over the last few weeks that Onex is planning a Westjet IPO in late 2024 or early 2025. $ONEX

Union contracts were the big issue here, and they're all signed.

I don't think airlines are a good biz so not for me, but y'all might be interested.

No real opinion on $LULU (no dividend and I've long realized I have no edge in fashion retail), but I'll say this:

Everyone I know who has a pair of the pants -- male and female -- absolutely love them and swear they're worth the extra $$$.

This made the rounds yesterday. Good for him but kids, this is a colossally bad investment strategy:

- Go all in on Shopify
- Put the proceeds of your big win in covered call funds that yield ~14%

An entire TFSA invested in split share funds gets a big ol’ yikes from me.

Nelson's updated guide to Twitter criticism:

From a mutual: Take it seriously
From a follower: Consider it
From a non-follower: Ignore it
From anyone being annoying: mute
From anyone being a jerk: block

Some voices on here are extremely valuable. Many aren't.

Browning West wins their fight against Gildan’s board, and former CEO Glen Charmandy is back in charge.

This was a massive distraction, so good thing it’s over. $GIL.to $GIL

Stock is up 5%+ today.
