Christian organisations from 10 African nations will convene at Brackenhurst Conference and Retreat Centre in Limuru on May 21-23, 2024, to seek solutions to the growing mental health crisis. Dr Michael Gichangi from MOH Ophthalmology Services Unit spoke on the role of partnerships in delivering quality eye care services at the CHAK Annual Health Conference 2024. There is need to establish the real burden of visual impairment and blindness in Kenya.

PCEA Kikuyu Hospital team screened delegates for presbyopia and gave spectacles to those with the condition during the CHAK Annual Health Conference & AGM 2024. Presbyopia is when one has difficulty focusing on near objects due to loss of flexibility in the lens of the eye.

At the CHAK Annual Health Conference & AGM 2024, we launched the Africa Clear Sight Partnership Project to increase awareness on presbyopia and treat the visual impairment. PCEA Kikuyu Hospital screened delegates for presbyopia and gave spectacles to those with the condition.

The CHAK NCD program seeks to improve service delivery in diabetes, hypertension, breast cancer, sickle cell, epilepsy, among other disease areas. It also focuses on antimicrobial resistance. Rita Samba tackles queries from delegates at the #chakahc2024 on CHAK NCD interventions.
